Once upon a time there was music and sounds on the tip of the fingers; imagination responding to rhythm, chanting giving life to film, a song rescuing a kingdom… These are the loose notes on the paths of First Sounds. Four workshops with different working methods responding to the same criteria: to provide children up to 6 years old a practical musical initiation, with games and exercises that are accessible and effective.
In stimulating environments, everything is discovered; touching encourages learning. These workshops are essentially a space where music and affection flows naturally between all the participants. As always, there are sessions adapted to the cognitive ability of each participant group, and this year there are different formats for three age groups: 0-23 months old, 2-3 years old and 4-6 years old.
Making it happen - this is the challenge of the workshops dedicated to the active discovery of music. Based on innovative pedagogical approaches, what these workshops have in common is the creative and dynamic environment that always results in good experiences. The consequences are immediate and effective, and come from multiple sources: from the use of traditional or electronic instruments; from percussion and body language; from the organic encounter with rhythms and sounds; from digital composition.
With a new timetable, better adjusted to the school calendar, Sounds for All is designed for specific groups, ranging from children as young as 3 years old - integrated in preschool education - to senior citizens. Adapted to the profile of the participants, these workshops encourage the participants’ ability to work as a team through recreational and educational exercises, combining knowledge and fun.
Now we are all musicians. Because we want to. And that is enough to make it happen. Simple ... This is the irrevocable principle of the workshops created for the general public with hardly any admission criteria: you just have to be over 12 years old, come prepared to make music within a group and have fun.
On Saturdays, there are workshops for musical creating processes accessible to anyone. The sessions end with a small public presentation of the work that was accomplished.
