  • First Concerts

For first-time listeners, music never comes alone - it brings with it storytellers and stage arts, it is filled with characters and friendships, its settings inspire magic. Join them, give in to curiosity and get down on all fours, experiencing everything for the first time, with no preconceptions. Within the freedom of new beginnings, we present the most varied repertoires, from classical to rock, from jazz to experimental: and the little ones are open to all of them. Devised for babies and children up to the age of 5, these concerts form the first foundations of musical comprehension and expression. Held from October to June, they are aimed at families (Sunday sessions) and pre-school level (Monday sessions).

€ 60 (child + adult) € 45 (second attendee) Included in this Subscription is one of the following concerts

  • Concerts for All
Come and enjoy yourself. Concerts for All is a melting pot of programmes where the music provides a place for intervention and dialogue with other languages of the stage. Presenting original models, these concerts often lead the public onto the stage, giving expression to artistic and community projects carried out over the course of the year. Both educational and playful, they attempt to contribute to the acquisition of musical comprehension tools, always keeping in mind what should go hand-in-hand with any show: arousing emotions and creating good memories. With this, there will be performances, players’ marathons, staged concerts, musical theatre, live recording sessions and much more.
  • Pre-Concert Lectures

Lasting approximately 30 minutes, the lectures precede the concerts with a brief explanation of the historic, social and musical context in which the works on the programme were created, focusing on biographical aspects of the composers and other details relevant to their premiere or promotion, or indeed to the protagonists themselves. With various illustrative examples, sounds and images, the lectures aim to capture the public’s attention for more informed listening. From 2015, the pre-concert lectures will favour concerts in the Discovery Series, on Saturdays, but they are also associated with other concerts by Casa da Música’s symphony orchestra and Remix Ensemble. Entry is free and the times vary between 17:15 and 20:15 depending on when the concert starts.

  • Introduced Concerts

How does a child describe heaven? Is it possible to dream a symphony? How can you tell the most beautiful love story without using words? And how will the evil Till’s mischief stop a score? These are just some of the questions to which the introduced concerts will provide an answer. With brief explanatory introductions, with illustrative examples that allow us to discover the orchestra and its musicians, the Introduced Concerts help us hear the music differently, in a more informed way, bringing music lovers and families closer to the great works of the symphonic repertoire.
