P. I. Tchaikovski A Bela Adormecida
A beautiful princess is the victim of a terrible spell on the day she is born: at age 16 she will prick her finger on a spindle of a spinning wheel and remain asleep for 100 years. What will save her, of course, is the kiss of an adventurous prince. The most classic of fairy tales, signed by Charles Perrault, inspired Tchaikovsky to write a ballet that won a definite place in the classical repertoire - although the composer himself didn't have the opportunity to watch its international success, which lasts until today. The brilliant orchestrations and overwhelming melodies of the Russian composer continue to delight us and are the perfect soundtrack for Christmas, a time when fantasy is always welcome.
