Thomas Larcher A noite dos perdidos, para barítono e ensemble
Known especially for his pieces for large orchestra, with Souvenir Magnus Lindberg wanted to return to a more restrained set, to a chamber orchestra sound. This is a tribute to the French composer Gérard Grisey, whose title also refers to another of Lindberg's masters: Franco Donatoni. From the texts of the Persian poet Attar of Nishapur (1136 - 1220), Composer in Residence Georg Friedrich Haas wrote a piece that uses the light of the room - or lack thereof - as an essential element for his dramaturgy. In the voice of Benjamin Appl, one of the most recent revelations of lyric singing, this concert presents the work of the Austrian Thomas Larcher centered on the intimate and raw poetry of Ingeborg Bachmann.
